  Exotica (1994)

Kirshner uncovers; mystery uncovered.

Review: I may have heard a little something about Exotica when it came out, but it wasn't on my radar as a must-see. That is until I came across the DVD one day at Circuit City. The seductive cover caught my eye and then it really caught my attention when I realized it was Mia Kirshner. An added bonus was the price at only $6.99.

Exotica is a complex little tale that doesn't dumb itself down for a mass audience. It's confusing at first as you don't fully understand the actions of the characters, but give the story time to develop and you will be greatly rewarded.

The sexy box cover is not a ploy. Mia Kirshner dances, strips, and (eventually) gets topless. Add in the fact that she was only about 18 or 19 years old and Exotica quickly becomes a must-see. This is a gem of a movie. Seek it out.
